• Residence: Occupied the "Down's House" but by questionable entitlement, After 5 Jun 1836, Ferryland, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. (Occupant)
• Minister/Priest: Edward Wix, M.A., Archdeacon, 27 Nov 1836, Ferryland, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. 140813: Minister's name is different on two different birth/baptism transcripts on NGB. Needs to be checked. Also, Edward Wix did not reside in Ferryland during his time in Newfoundland so it is not known for certain if the Christenings he performed for residents of the southern shore took place there or in St. John's but since they were recorded at petty Harbour I am pretty sure they took place at St. Luke's, which had been consecrated by the Bishop from Nova Scotia in 1832.
• Residence: According to Robert Carter's diaries, Cir May 1845, St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

• Alt. Marriage: 8 Jul 1861, Bristol, Gloucestershire, England. 281222
Note that information on the marriage was originally presented to me as fact by a descendant who was obviously ill informed. They were married in Liverpool, not in Bristol, as the church records clearly show and as her parents' residence at this time also substantiates.• Witnesses: W. Mansfield and Selina Jellard, 27 Jul 1861, Liverpool, Lancashire, England. Children: 1. Alice M. Anderson 2. John Anderson 3. Annie Avery Anderson 4. Jane Bennett Anderson 5. William J. Anderson
Notes
General:
250713 from Margaret Sanderson:
Mary Paige Jellard married William Anderson in 1861 Jane Bennett Anderson was born in 1867 Jane emigrated to Canada about 1891 Jane married John William Jones in 1892 here in Canada. They must have known each other at home, because they both lived in the Toxteth Park area of Liverpool. My grandfather was ordained by the Anglican Church, diocese of Huron, and he ministered in several places up toward Owen Sound and the Bruce Peninsula. He died very suddenly in 1913, leaving his wife with nine children. She lived the rest of her life in genteel poverty, supported by her children and in a small way by the bishop's discretionary fund. She died in London Ontario in 1954. My mother, Grace Sarah Jones was their penultimate child, born in 1906. She died in 2002.
100116:
Although their place of residence on her birth/baptism record in the Vital Statistics is given as Ferryland, it seems clear that she was not baptised there, but rather at St. Thomas's, as the Minister was Edward Wix.
There are two entries in the Vital Statistics for her and they both contain basically the same information except that the first one (which is out of chronological order) gives her names as "Mary Jellard" and the second one is an entry as an afterthought at the end of the Petty Harbour entries in the mistaken belief that it had not been recorded earlier.
