The family announces with great sorrow his passing in Sudbury at St-Joseph's Villa surrounded by his family on Saturday, November 14th, 2015 at the age of 91 years. Predeceased by his wife Elsie Ranger (née Morry) in 2014 and by his sister Martha in 1925. Son of the late Armand and of the late Elodia "Lou" (née Lalonde) Ranger. Loving father of Marc (Rose), Debbie Ranger, Christine Blake (Denis), Ronald (Kimberly) and Lisette Ranger (Dave). Cherished grandfather of Amanda (Jeff), Alix (Ryan), Brandy (Matt), Andrew, Jessica (Chris), Katlan (Tyler), Veronica (Sean), Destiny, Casey and Kira. Predeceased by his great granddaughter Ondrea. René will be missed by his extended family and friends. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus in the 3rd degree, council # 6074 and a WW I I Veteran with the RCAF. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury on Saturday, November 21st, 2015 from 1 to 3 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, Sudbury. As expressions of sympathy, donations (by cheque only) to Maison Vale Hospice are appreciated.
