Alphonsus John (June) Oates - Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous and hard fought battle with cancer on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the young age of 63. Predeceased by parents John and Mary Oates, father-in-law Jimmy O'Keefe, brothers Michael and Cyril and brother-in-law Michael Reddy. Leaving to mourn with both broken hearts and treasured memories, his loving wife Linda, who was his biggest supporter, children Mark, Keith (daughter-in-law Rebecca) and Susan (Patrick), brothers Gerald, Raphael (Glenys), Terry (Glenda), sisters Ann Reddy, Marcella Brennan, Madeline Dunne (Noel) and Gen Clowe, mother-in-law Dollie O'Keefe, brother-in-law Kerry O'Keefe (Ann Marie) and sisters-in-law Marilyn Oates (Barry), Shirley Maher (Sean), Jocelyn O'Brien (Richie), Rhonda Arsenault (Joe), Sadie Kenny (Ron) and Wally Ann. June also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends (especially his weekend buddies The Murphy's). Remains resting at Fahey's Funeral Home, Fermeuse. Visitation on Friday and Saturday, August 26 and 27 from 2-9 pm. Funeral service on Sunday, August 28 at 1 pm at St. Charles Boromeo R.C Church, Fermeuse. Interment to follow at St. Charles Boromeo Cemetery, Fermeuse. Special thanks to the doctors who cared for him over the past 25 years; Dr's Maroun, French, Siddiqui, Tom's, Ogunyemi and the entire nursing staff of 4NA HSC. June was a loving husband, father, father-in-law and friend to all. He enjoyed the simple things, and never asked for much in return. He will be remembered for his great strength, sense of humour, quick wit and gentle touch. We love you! 5858
