Laura Morry Williams, in her book Over The Fence, notes that Bert suffered a hip injury and had a steel ball implanted but limped all his life.

She also recounts how Tine and his brother Bert were both on leave in England one time and found themselves in the same cell after celebrating a little too much.

171213:

At this time I cannot recall where I found the information on this person but Laura Morry William's information in Over The Fence implies that he is not a son of Gus O'Keefe and Kate Sesk. I had initially removed him from that family based on her information when I discovered him listed as a family member on the 1921 Census transcribed on the NLGenweb site. So I have put him back once again and will continue to try and find evidence to support his being a part of this family. I show him living until 8 Jul 1996 but I suspect that should be that he died BEFORE 8 Jul 1996, based on information on a brother or sister's death in an obituary in the Evening Telegram. A lot of the "BEF" designations were stripped from this file when I transferred it to and back from FTM2014 - a mistake I will NEVER make again! If he died in his youth, that would explain why Laura did not mention him. She may not have even known that he once existed. He was not listed on the 1935 Census so I am taking it that he died before then.
