Although I had received information from Jamie on the existence of a brother who died in infancy, she gave me his birth and death year as 1935. This appears to be incorrect as the information found on FamilySearch and copied from FindMyPast indicate both events occurred in 1939. What is more, they give a middle name that Jamie had not given me -- Gerald Majella O'Brien.

I do not understand, however, why the place given was Ballygibbon and not Toomevara.

 Gerald Michael O'Brien - It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved father, Gerry O'Brien from Cape Broyle living in St. John's. He went with his Lord on February 10, 2020.
Gerry was born December 17, 1949 in Cape Broyle. He leaves behind his loving children, Daughter Darlene (Husband Bryce, and Granddaughters, Qwinn and Fallon.) Son Blair (Wife Kyla and grandsons Brodie, Dillon and Lachlan). His beloved Judy and son James. Sisters Marie (Brian Vaughan) Elizabeth (Ed Vardy), Dot (Fred Grunbsy) and Brothers Stan (Peggy), Reggie (Cathy), Felix and sister in law Carol. He will also be sadly missed by numerous other family members. Gerry also leaves behind his little furry friend Penny.
He was predeceased by his mother Rita and father Michael Loving brothers Vince, Tom (Kareen), Ron and sister Shirley as well as sister in law Joy O'Brien.
Gerry always had a joke to tell and a story to share. Dad you will forever be missed!
The celebration of life will be held at Ryan's Funeral Home, Bay Bulls on Sunday February 16th, 2020 from 2:00pm-9:00pm. A Private family service will be held a later date.
In Lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to be made to the Canadian Lung Association or SPCA

Gladys Coombs - (September 6, 1953 - January 11, 2022) - Passed peacefully away after a lengthy illness in the presence of her loving husband, Terry on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Agnes Pratt Home, Gladys Coombs (nee O'Brien), age 68 years.
Predeceased by her parents Martin and Loretta O'Brien; brother-in-law Don Coombs; nephew Cory Coombs; mother- and father-in-law Bridgette and Ambrose Coombs.
Leaving to mourn her husband of 41 years, Terry Coombs; sister Christine Coady (Pat); sisters-in-law Marg Perry (Fred), Ann Coombs (Harvey), Jose St. Croix (Dan); brothers-in-law Mike Coombs (Sandra), Roy Coombs (Roma), Norm Coombs, Carl Coombs; special niece Patrina Barnes (Mike); many nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends.
Funeral mass to be held from Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Trepassey on Sunday, January 16. 2022 at 11:00am.
