In an email from Bridget Smith on April 30, 2002: "Another bit of information: Loraine Shandley - daughter of Esther was born February 18, 1916 in Seattle, Washington and died May 1984 in Milford, Kentucky."

In the 1940 census it states that she was 19 and at home and in first year of college. Since the age and year at school make sense, I think that the date of birth given to me by Bridget was in error. It was long before her parents were married.
