BADCOCK News of the passing of Mr. Frederick William BADCOCK, which occurred at Brooklyn, N.Y. on Wednesday the 10th, inst. Was received by relatives here last week. The deceased was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. George H. BADCOCK, formerly of this town but now residing at St. John's. He was in his 38th year and was married leaving a wife and little girl. For nearly a year he had been ill, being in hospital undergoing treatment for the past ten months. He was suffering from some from of brain disease, his condition being such that at times he appeared to be recovering and his relatives hopes were raised only to meet further set-backs. Fred was well liked by his many friends with whom he went to school here and his former playmates, and possessed a most cheerful disposition. Following his leaving school he went to St. Jonn's where he worked with the St. John's Light and Power Company for some five years, going thence to New York where he soon held a responsible position with an electrical concern. He was last home for a brief holiday in 1914. Notwithstanding his lameness he joined up with the American Army during the war and was at some of the training camps but did not get on active service. During his illness he was constantly visited by his brother, Bert, who is with the Western Union Cable Company at New York, and also his sister, Elsie, Mrs. WATKINS, who resides at Brooklyn, while another brother Jack and his sister Marguerite, Mrs. COLTON, both residing at Montreal also visited him. The funeral was held on Friday last, the Masonic order of which he was an old member being in charge of the obsequies. Left to mourn besides his wife and parents and the brothers and sisters mentioned above are four other brothers, George, Don, Max and Robert and two sisters, Doris and Francis who reside at St. John's. Mrs. WEBBER and Miss BADCOCK of this town are aunts of the deceased.
