After fighting the hard fight, finishing the race, and keeping the faith, passed away peacefully and surrounded by love, John (Jack) Connors Jr - husband/father/brother/uncle/cousin/friend. Born July 10, 1939, he was raised with his 13 siblings in Mundy Pond by John Sr and Mary Connors (deceased). Upon graduating from St Theresa's School, he spent the next 50 years working with Newfoundland Telephone and Tel Tech Canada.
Along with his parents, he is also predeceased by his parents-in-law, Frank and Louise Reddy, brothers, Ted, Cyril, Paul, and Patrick, sister Sylvia, sister-in-law Barb, and brothers-in-law Wayne Reddy and Tom Power.
One could write volumes listing his endeavours and accomplishments. He enjoyed golf, genealogy research, watching sports and politics on TV, walking many miles around Mundy Pond trail, a good laugh, song, and a chat, a good steak and a plate of wings. Dad also had an incredible work ethic and was extremely dedicated to his family.
Leaving to mourn him and celebrate his life are his wife of 48 years, Cynthia (Reddy), sons Steve (Darlene) and Chris (Darlene), daughter Jackie (Paul Scott), and his greatest gift, his grandchildren Noah, Hayley, Brady, and Isabella Connors and Megan Scott. Also leaving his brothers Fred (Rosalind), David (Linda), Frank (Barbara), Harry (Margaret), and Terry (Audrey), his sisters Elizabeth Power, Mary (Allan Prince), and Ann, and sisters-in-law Rose and Anne Connors). Also leaving his other family - the Reddy's, brothers-in-law Robert (Debbie), Paul, Gary (Elizabeth), and Frank (Ethel) and sister-in-law Mary (Fred Benson). Also a very large circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly.
He will also be missed by the friends he had made in Ottawa over the past 20 years.
We cannot thank the medical staff of St Clare's Hospital enough for their superb care and compassion.
Visitation to be held at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Rd, on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.. Cremation to follow. Funeral mass will be at St. Teresa's Church on Monday, May 16, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. and inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, you can make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, St. Vincent de Paul, one of the Eastern Health Foundations, or a charity of one's choice.

On March 17,1937 John Joseph Connors was wed to Mary Catherine Morrissey. They celebrated their lives with the gathering of fourteen of us, there sons and daughters. Life at home was full of precious memories none so full as when we were able to gather together from all across Canada and the USA in August of 1997  to celebrate 60 years of marriage with them. We will always remember them and on this day we say Happy Anniversary and a very happy St. Patrick's Day in Heaven and say Top of the morning to you both and the rest of the day to yourselves.
