For reasons unknown, before today it never occurred to me to put two and two together and connect this Nathaniel Crocker with the person whose name appears inside the cover of the bible I inherited from Mom in which the main names are of the two Sooley sisters who died young. I had always thought that they held this bible AFTER the Nathaniel Crocker, whose name appears first inside the book. I now believe that it was he who held the bible AFTER the death of the two Sooley girls. But how it then got from him to my mother's family of either Bishops or Chisletts from the Heart's Delight area is anyone's guess.

I may have missed a connection somwhere along the line but he does not appear to be in anyway related to the Sooley girls. And he is only tangentially related to the Bishops via Corbett Bishop's marriage to Leah Worthman and the fact that her sister Naomi was married to James Crocker and they were the parents of Nathaniel.

This Nathaniel Crocker is the only person of that name who shows up in a search of FamilySearch for that area, though there are others elsewhere in Newfoundland
