From - The Telegram, St. John's, Newfoundland. February 28. 2013 Alphonsus (Phonse) Curtis - Passed away surrounded by his loving family at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital. Alphonsus Curtis, aged 83 years entered peacefully into eternal life on February 27. 2013. Predeceased by his loving wife Judith A. Curtis (October 8th, 2000), his parents Thomas and Sarah Curtis, his brothers Pat, Stan, Vince and his sister Sr. Angela Curtis PBVM, St. John's. Grateful for the gift of his life and his unfailing strength and courage are his sons: Paul (Anna) Mission, BC and David (Brenda); his daughters: Jeanne (Bruce) Edmonton, AB and Tina (Adrian) Surrey, England; as well as his eight precious grandchildren: Avery and Matthew, Ellen and Anna, Katie and Abigail and Sara and Emma. He leaves to mourn and one sister Anne (Bill deceased) Battcock. Also blessed by his presence and left to mourn are numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, friends and his parish community of Mary Queen of Peace. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Caul's Chapel at a time to be announced. Inurnment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donation's in his memory may be made to the parish of Mary Queen of Peace, Torbay Road, St. John's, NL A1A 2G9. "Every tear shall be undone, And death shall be no more, As songs of the angels bring you home, Before the face of God."

Anne Battcock (nee Curtis) - (August 10th, 1923 - January 20th, 2018) - Passed peacefully away at the Agnes Pratt Home on Saturday, January 20th, 2018 surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 94. Predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years William (February 5th, 2013), grandson James, parents Thomas and Sarah, brothers Pat, Stan, Vince, Phonse and her sister Sr. Angela Curtis of the Presentation Convent, St. John's. Left with treasured memories of her grace and kindness are her children: Garry (Anne), Anne-Marie, Donna, Mary, Edwina and George (Andrea); her grandchildren: Mark (Sophie), Sarah (Mutema), Allison (John), David, Sian, Erik and Katie; her great-grandchildren: Jack and Evelyn, her nieces, nephews, and all the family. Special thanks to the entire staff at Agnes Pratt Home for their exceptional care and compassion. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, with visitation on Sunday, January 21st from 7-9 pm and Monday, January 22nd from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Pius X Church on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 9:30 am. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
