I do not know for certain that these are the parents of Henry Fugate Senior, the father of Grover Cleveland Fugate. The location where they were found in 1910 and the fact that they are the only Fugate on record in the census that year with childrren name Chester and Flora makes me think they are the right couple. But I cannot account for why Henry, who would have been 13 at the time, is not shown on the census form. It is possible he was working elsewhere already at that time. The Census indicates that they only had 6 children and that all were alive at the time. My guess therefore is that William J. H. Fugate is actually "Henry" Fugate.

Obviously this needs verification.

On the 1920 Census there is no mention of either William or Henry. In either case they would be old enough to be on their own at that time.
