Here is a poem written by Thomas Greene which Dad Morry wrote into his 1960 diary. His words are not identical to the original provided by Enid O'Brien and he omitted the final stanza:

The Song or Poem

Oh! Ferryland, dear Ferryland
as the pictures come & go
As my fancy paints your beauty
Mid the scenes of long ago.

The old home by the seaside
Where the happy children play
Even now their voices reach me
Till it seems but yesterday.

Let the past become the present
Brush the mist of years away
And again on Sunny hill side
Life is all a holiday.

On the Gaze of dear old Ferryland
mid its spreading boughs of green
Where I oft times roved in boyhood
Many years now roll lie between.

Let the On the Downs of Dear old Ferryland
And the Verdant Isle Au Bois
Ocean waves & waving verdure
'Neath the sunny Southern skies.

Many lands I've travelled over
On their sunny slopes to rest
But the hills of dear old Ferryland
Are the ones I love the best.

On the hills of dear old Ferryland
Would ye all their beauty know
See them in the Silver Moonlight
When their tops are capped with Snow.

When the ice king reigns in splendor
There like sentinels they Stand
Watching ever calm & silent
Till it's dawn at Ferryland.

Apparently, THomas's daughter, Rose was a published poetess and may have asssisted in the writing of the poem. 5

Marriage: 14 Jun 1882 - Cloughjordan, Tipperary, Munster, Ireland 673

Marriage Events

• Minister/Priest: Patrick Kennedy, C.C., 14 Jun 1882, Cloughjordan, Tipperary, Munster, Ireland.

• Witnesses: William Cullen (Possibly Should Be Collins) And Honora Neary, 14 Jun 1882, Cloughjordan, Tipperary, Munster, Ireland. Marriage Notes

June 27, 2007: The name of the witness William Cullen may be spelled wrong. It couldbe Collins as her sister married a Thomas Collins and Thomas's brother, James, along with the same Honora(h) Neary were witnesses at that wedding. I suspect that William "Cullen" is actually the brother of Thomas and James Collins.
