"Sebastian and Mary Ledwell had eight children, five sons, Vincent, Robert, John, William, and Alphonsus and three daughters, Ellen, Alice, and Ethel. Of their five sons, John died as an infant and Robert (Bert) never married. Their youngest son, Alphonsus (Phonse) immigrated to the United States and fished for many years out of Weymouth, Massachusetts. Vince and William married and raised their families at Caplin Bay/Calvert."

Vincent Patrick Ledwell - (1945-2015) - Passed peacefully away on March 22nd, 2015 at James Payton Memorial Hospital in Gander, Newfoundland, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Son of the late Robert and Marion (Condon) Ledwell, Vince - originally of Calvert, Newfoundland - was predeceased by his sister Mary. Left to celebrate his life are his wife Anne; son Adam (Cindy); daughter Meagan (Kirk Durning); brothers Earnest (Barbara), Pat (Rose), Wayne (Julie), Ron (Debbie) and Danny (Christine); sisters Anne Marie, Jeannie (Paul MacIssac), Elaine (Robert Anstey), Donna and Maxine (Mike Wawrzkow); mother-in-law Lottie Glavine; brothers-in-law Gerry Glavine (Helen), Terry Glavine (Sylvia), Ron Glavine (Winnie); sister-in-law Jeannie (Robin Moore); and nieces, nephews and a circle of extended family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Resting at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander with visitation Tuesday, March 24th 2:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M, Funeral mass Wednesday, March 25th at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Gander. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery. Flowers are accepted or donations in Vince's memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
