I discovered this person, John Street Morey as the father of a daughter named Ann Hunt Morey baptised on Sept. 29th 1782 in the St. Clement's register found on FindMyPast. Considering these names it is highly unlikely that this person is not a part of this family so I am adding him (and her) here for now.

He must have been born and named after his brother John was buried, hence the approximate age. I have yet to find a baptism record for him.

The problems continue to compound concerning the identity of John Street Morey and his parentage. Up until now I only knew of him from the christening record of a daugher named Ann Hunt Morey at St. Clement's as noted before. I had surmised that he was a son of this family renamed after the first son died and this was at least partly because they had another son named George Street Morey, and the mother of this family was named Ann Hunt, which seemed too much to be a coincidence.

Today I have added a new possible fact about him. He COULD be the John Mory who sailed on the ELIZABETH with Captains Jackson and Cole successively in 1775. If it is not he, I cannot attach any other John Morey/Morey/Morry to this event. But this record shows that he was reported to be 20 in 1775 and if he was born after 1763 when the previous John died that would make him only 12 in 1775. Obviously that is not possible. He was shown as a Seaman and not a "Boy".

For now I will leave these conflicting facts here and hope to find the solution at some time in the future. I have a feeling that I have wrongly attached the earlier John to this family and that he should have been linked as a son to another George Morey.

NB: It is noteworthy that nowhere online can I find any record of a person named "John Street Morey". It is quite probable that the clerk at St. Clements inadvertently used his brother George's middle name as his.
