Notes
General:
231007: Children Francis, William and Elizabeth (1877) do not appear on the 1891 Census. For the two boys this probably means they had already left home. But in the case of Elizabeth, a new Lizzie, born in about 1887, appears along with several other new children since the 1881 census.I take it this means the first Lizzie died before 1887.

010114:
I had included this family because of the surname, often used by members of my family line, and the fact that they resided not far from where my Morrys set out when they came to Newfoundland. But I have no reason to believe that they may be related. They are just retained as a separate line in case something should come up that might connect them to my main Morry line.

There may have been other William Moreys in that little village at that time but if so I do not know of them. This information comes from the Devon Archive online Catalogue, Devon Quarter Sessions:

I don't know where this family fits into our family tree but I am sure that it does since they are a remnant of the family still living inthe Stoke Gabriel area several generations after our closest ancestors left there for Dartmouth. Strangely, there are no records of Moreys or Morrys in the church of St. Gabriel at the time that this family was living there nor for several generations previous to that. It would appear that they must have attended another church nearby, possibly in Cornworthy.

I also do not know what the annotation (WRI) signifies in terms of the birth of William while at sea.

Further to this however, the William Morey convicted was sentenced to transportation to Virginia. It is possible, if it was this William, that he received a reprieve due to family considerations, since it is evident he lived on and died in Stoke Gabriel:

I'm not convinced it definitatly looks like an L after the first two letters
.Part Image attached for others to see (source census 1851) I still think
its WrI or NRI

William Henry Morey b1825 at sea marries a Jane Gagg in stoke Gabriel they
appear on the 1851 and 1861 census in stoke gabriel . William dies and Jane
remarries and becomes Jane Nelder in 1871. He is an agriculturial labourer.
It is possible he is in Halwell Devon on the 1841census.

They have several children all born at Stoke Gabriel.
There are many examples of Morey/mory/morry/morley etc families in the area
including some from the stoke gabriel much later according to Church of
later day saints. So there is a possiblity that his father originaly came
from the area. Of course if his father was a fisherman and been baptised
anywhere along the english coast!
On william henry moreys b1825 at sea marriage certificate it lists his
father as William Henry morey deceased.
Interesting this appears to be a family name as I can trace 5 generations
who have a son called william henry morey up to 1911!

I have had another contact (John Avery) suggust that WRI could stand for Without
Registration Identity as the shipping lines were normally required to check that all
persons on board were covered by passports before accepting them aboard.

Notes
General:
211007: The census information recorded in the Morey database is dubious at best, There are three children's names duplicated with separate birth years, meaning either the original children thus named died and another was given their name or the census records of their dates of birth were wrong. The latter seems more likely. To support this, there are also three sons shown born in 1889. Unless they were triplets this is impossible. More likely another error.

231007: Additional information provided by Laurence Spicer confirms that there is something wrong in the Morey database. It would appear that there are two families merged. It seems that there were two couples in which the husband's name was William and in one case the wife was Elizabeth ? and in the other case her name was Lila Chick. This requires more research to sort out.

020114:

I have retained and even built upon the family line of William Morey over the years simply because of the fact that he hails (or at least it appears that he hails) from Stoke Gabriel. But there is a gap of a century between when my Morry line ceased to live in that location and this line first appeared there. So it is more than likely that they are a different family altogether and only share a similar surname. I am still reluctant to delete all the information on this line at this time because I harbour a hope that at some point down the road connections between the two lines will be found.
