Information from Jean Carter Stirling

There seem to have been rumours or thoughts that Ada would eventually marry Robert McLea. Though this was not to be, he did continue to write to her after her marriage and the birth of her children. Perhaps nothing more than friendship.


Ada was the only child of Elias that lived. She moved to the U.S. to live with
her cousin Mary (Carter) McLea in New York; then when the McLeas went to Paris
she went out west with another family, and Joined the Latter-Day Saints
Church.She was the second concurrent wife of Charles Durrant, and bore two
sons. One of these sons, who also had more than one wife, was Walter Henry
Durrant, and his daughter was Grace. Grace married twice, and with second
husband David Lehman had two children. Grace is in her 80's and lives in Salt
Lake City.
