Walter Patrick was the eighth child of John Edward Sexton (22) and Catherine Helena Winifred Sexton (25) nee Cullen. Walter was the twin brother of James Martin (140). Tragedy struck early in Walter's life when his twin brother James (140) accidently hung himself. From photographs Walter we know that he played football with the Mount Pleasant Football Club. According to Kathleen Hawkins (157) Walter also coached the Mt Pleasant Football team to a Premiership. Walter married Elizabeth Ann Howe (144) on 25/5/1921 at St Mary's Catholic Church Rushworth Vic. His late brother John Charles Vincent (Jack) Sexton (48) had also been engaged to Elizabeth Howe (144) bur he died of Spanish Influenza in 1919. No doubt Walter met Elizabeth through his brother and when she taught school at Muskerry. The couple had 10 children John (Jack) Patrick (145) B9/5/1922, Frank (146) B14/12/1923, Gerard (147) B4/4/1925, Carmel Therese (182) B9/11/1926, Sheila (203) B22/11/1928, Patrick Thomas (220) 31/5/1930, Margaret Mary (244) B4/1/1932, Brian (258) 26/8/1934, Adrian Michael (259) B21/10/1936 and Judith Winifred (298) B10/7/1939.
