Tony Ludington has a great deal more information on this line than I have bothered to copy over because it is of no relevance to the main line of connection to Jamie's people in Ireland, which stems from the connection between the Sextons and the Howes (Houghs).

was the child of Cornelius Sexton (05) and Catherine Sexton (06) whose maiden name is unknown. The Story of the Sexton family in Victoria and then after 1901 in Australia began with the birth of Cornelius Sexton in 1830 at Limerick which is situated in the South Western part of Ireland. Cornelius who was the son of Cornelius (05) senior (B ABT 1800-1810) was one of five children when at an older age used to recite a poem titled "We seven" in which he referred to his four brothers, his parents and himself. Cornelius at the age of 16 years set sail for South Africa 1846/48 apparently on the ship Zenobia no doubt in the hope of finding glittering diamonds and sparkling gold. A daring enterprise for one so young!
Whilst working in the mines in South Africa, Cornelius met a young Irish Lass by the name of Mary Purcell (4). Mary who was born 10 years prior to Cornelius (1820) was the daughter of John Purcell (2) and Catherine Purcell (3) nee Heenan. Mary was born in Kings County, now known as County Offaly, Ireland. On the 8th of September 1851 Cornelius and Mary were married in the Catholic Church in Cape Town South Africa.
In 1852 and Cornelius and Mary set sail for Australia in search of once again in search of the glittering gold on the ship the ??. This year was a momentous one, not only for travelling to their new homeland where they would settle in Long Gully (near Bendigo Vic). The couple had six children all born in Victoria they were Mary (6) B1853, John Edward (22) B10/10/1855, Patrick (361) B1858, Margaret Cecilla (362) B1860, Cornelius (392) B1862 and Elizabeth (416) B1864.
John Edward (22) was born at White Hills Hamlet Bendigo Vic and upon his Birth Certificate Cornelius's (1) occupation was described as a miner. In 1866 and Cornelius had now settled at Mosquito Creek where he was described as a farmer by trade. In 1872 the Sexton family moved to the tiny Irish settlement of Toolleen Victoria near Elmore Vic. There with his three sons, John Edward, Patrick and Cornelius Jnr, they farmed a large acreage of land. I do not know if he purchased this acreage (he may have struck it rich on the goldfields or may have got a government grant or purchase plan. Apparently the story is that if you owned land at Mosquito Creek which Cornelius did than you were entitled to apply for land released at Toolleen. (I am not sure as to the reliability of this).
Cornelius died on 9/1/1920 at 17 McRae St White Hills Bendigo Vic and is buried with his Wife Mary (4) in the Runnymede Cemetery Vic.
