Notes
General:
161208: On a sad note, I have just learned that my research partner in Devon, Margaret Dickson, has died. I stayed with Margaret and her husband Ray in Teignmouth two years ago and they took me round to Stoke Gabriel, Dartmouth and other Morry haunts from years gone by. Ray was our seventh cousin. We stood together beside the graves of his 4th great grandmother, Mary [Downing] Morrey and our 4th Great Grandmother Mary [Graham] Morry at St. Clement and St. Saviour church yards, respectively, in Dartmouth. She was a councillor and latterly the Mayor on the Dawlish Town Council. She retired last May and they moved to Bovey Tracey, on the edge of Dartmoor to be closer to one of their children, who had just given them a new grandchild. Margaret was in excellent health and then was taken down by a massive Staphylococcus aureas infection which damaged her heart. The day before she was due for surgery to replace one of her heart valves she suffered a stroke and was gone within the week. She died on October 21st 2008.

Ray has volunteered to carry on in our quest for further information on our common heritage but I know that she was the machine behind all the research that led to our finding one another and I am afraid that the headway made will have died along with Margaret. She will be sorely missed. They were the only authenticated Morry relatives that I have ever found in the old country.
