In an email to Peggy Krause Hansen from Jennifer on 061111:

When she was a few weeks/months old they noticed that she wasn't moving her right arm as she should have done. After x-rays it was discovered that her arm had been fractured - probably at birth. She was given physio and her arm developed some but not much and it was very much smaller than her left one. She said that she would see people - not many - of her age with one tiny under-developed arm and realise that it was probably the same doctor who had delivered them all. Thank goodness it was noticed.

He worked for Coop Fisheries and traveled the BC coast from 1950-1958.  He traveled for an importer for about a year in 1959 and then moved to Malcolm Island, and worked in the Coop store there until his death.

They retired to Strasbourg about 1969. Louise suffered from Diabetes for many years but stayed active on the farm and assisting her family with their children.

More about Balleny Carr according to Lewis Carr: The birth date given by him is not confirmed by birth date given on 1851 British census where his age was given as 21. 1851 census: Living at Stella, Durham with father John Thomas Carr, mother Sophia Carr , half sister Matilda Green Carr and 1 servant Isabella Carr. 1881 census: Living at 24 Derwentwater Rd. Gateshead Durham with wife Isabella. Occupation: Commercial Clerk. Apparently emigrated to Canada circa 1884. He filed a claim for a homestead in the southeast corner of Saskatchewan, near Moosimin 10 Jun 1884. He built a home there but cultivated land in another location in 1891. He filed for this land claiming it as another homestead in 1894 as he stated the previous homestead was not fit for cultivation. He built a home there Mar 1897 but it burnt so he built another house Feb 1 1898. By this time he had 18 acres broken, some of them cropped. More about David Berthold Carr Was always known as "Dave" Went to Normal school with his twin sister Jean and received his teacher's certificate. He taught at various schools in Saskatchewan before moving to White Fox in 1936. He eventually moved to Love, Saskatchewan where he taught school. He became the principal of the school and was the village secretary as well as the post master. His wife Lauran (Laura Ann) was the mayor.
