It was noted that participants at the wedding feast at the home of the mother of the bride (then a widow) included Mr. & Mrs. Cathcart (parents of the groom) of Chemainus, BC; Mr. & Mrs. William Morry of Port Essington, BC; Dr. and Mrs. F. S. Shandley and Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Fairfax of Seattle, Washington.

These latter two couples were common visitors with the Morrys of BC because the wives were both sisters of the bride. Living in Seattle, they became familiar with the family of George Morry, the Klondike gold miner, and socialised with them frequently.
