• Medical Condition: In hospital due to bleeding following teeth extraction, 26 Nov 1957, St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Nov 26. Wind W. Blowing hard any freezing. Went in to the farm with a load of manure. Bill. went to town with a load of cask fish. Last night coming home from Freshwater, I stepped aside from a car into a ditch and skinned my hand quite a bit. It's a bit sore. Mercedes Clough went to the Hospital. She had teeth drawn and the local doctor could not stop the blood.

Mercedes Josephine Windsor (nee Clowe) Passed away on: 14/08/2010 November 11, 1932 - August 14, 2010. Passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family at the Palliative Care Unit after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by her loving husband Wilfred in 1975; parents James and Bridget Clowe; brothers: Anthony, Dermott, Reginald, James Jr., Arnold, Austin; step-brother Raymond Williams. Also predeceased by brother-in-law Angus Maher; sisters-in-law: Betty May and Mary; and members of the Windsor family. Leaving to mourn with cherished and beautiful memories her devoted son and daughter-in-law, Derrick and Margie; three adoring grandchildren: Dean (Laura Dawe), Dale Ann (Sameh) Ibrahim and Melissa (Amine) Maghrebi; and five precious great-grandchildren: Jacob, Mitchell, Megan, Laila and Mohamed. Also left to mourn with wonderful and happy memories her sister Anna; brothers: Vince (Viola), Kevin (Kathleen); stepbrothers: Herb (Helen) Williams and Allan (Josephine) Williams; sisters-in-law: Margie Clowe, Helen Clowe, Madeline Clowe and Alice Clowe; in-laws in the Windsor family; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue on Monday, August 16th from 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday, August 17th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Service to take place on Wednesday, August 18th at 11 a.m. at Barrett's Chapel., 73 Commonwealth Avenue. Interment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Ferryland. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Mercedes name may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre.
