Committal at Wellington 9th November 1904.
Character: Bad. Once throwing a stone in a public street; fined 1 shilling, cost costs 4s 10d or 3 hours L L. Beyond control of mother since 11 years of age, frequently seen with prostitutes and thieves.
Parents recorded as Matthew COSGROVE (deceased) labourer and Elizabeth HOGAN and they had seven children. Mother was described as a widow of good character and living in Wellington. This would be incorrectly recorded as he was obviously brought up by his grandparents as his mother died when he was a infant.
