George Hanmer Croughton was born in April 1843 in London, England. He was a painter, photographer, and illustrator. He studied at the National School of Arts at South Kensington under Thomas Sydney Cooper, and in Antwerp and Paris. He was a member of and held several positions with the Rochester Art Club Rochester, NY starting in 1892, including vice president and president.

The penmanship and spelling abilities of the person who recorde baptisms at Holy Trinity were very poor in the early years and it isn't certain that her last name is "Crow" but that is what it looks like.

Also, I am not sure that it is this Philip that Margaret was married to. He is the only Philip I had already on record and have therefore made the leap to connect them.
