180703: Notes on George LeMessurier's family tree seem to imply he first married a widow named ? Landmead and then married Annie Langmead afterwards but this was in error. The first wife was Annie Jackman Langmead and the second was a widow named Julia Ann Trotman (latter name being that of her first husband, her maiden name unknown). Minister at buriel Rev Thackery. She could have been a Langmead too.

I have recorded that two separate sources (Harcourt Gardiner and Jean Carter Stirling) give the date of birth as 18 Jan 1842 but FindMyPast shows the official date in England and Wales Births, 1837-2006 as being in the 3rd quarter of 1839. This is quite a discrepancy and since the latter source is not a church record it begs the question of whether it pertains to the same child. Perhaps the first child named James Carter Tessier died in infancy and a second son born almost three years later was given his name. Until I find the source of the information given by Harcourt Gardiner I will not know which is more likely. Jean Carter Stirling's notes are based on the gravestone and an estimate of age at time of death, which often is wrong. For now, I am going with the official record of birth information.

120813 from Enid O'Brien: James Lewis Gladstone Tessier md twice. The first time to Frances Moore who died age 26 yrs (Daily News 8/9/1905. They also had an infant daughter called Fanny who died around the same time. They were living on Theatre Hill at that time.

The second time he married Bessie Bursell in 7/1909 (Ref Daily News 16/7/1909. They had a son, Gerald G Tessier born 12/1916 (Ref. 1921 Census.

James Lewis Gladstone Tessier died 2/7/1960 (Ref. Daily News July 5,1960) and Bessie died 7/1/1963 (Ref. Even Tel 9/1/1963).

There is some dispute as to whether he was the second or third son of Peter Germon Tessier. The Marriage announcement of brother Charles and the death announcement of James both claim that honour for the person in question.

It noted that Deceased was the third son of the Hon. P.G. Tessier and died on board the vessel Niva (brig).

In the handwriting of Peter Germon Tessier:-

Tessier papers say James died of fever on a business trip in one of the family firm's vessels, the Brig Niva, at Aracoju, Brazil; buried there, with a marble headstone.
