There are many problems with this information. He is supposed to have been born in 1750 and married in 1759! Also, he is supposed to have died in England but his family were all born and lived in Newfoundland. Also, I show him reported in the 1794-95 Census of Newfoundland two decades after his supposed date of death. It just doesn't add up and needs more work.

310811 from Geoffrey Martin: The father of Edward Martin was William Martin. Edward was the only child of William's first marriage to Mary Anne Russell. Thomas Henry Cook Martin who married Jane Elizabeth Wheeler was the fourth child of Edward and Sarah Jane Cook. Edward and Sarah got married in Harbour Grace.

The first wife of William Martin was as noted, Mary Anne Russell. She died quite young and William married Caroline Cook(e) of the farming family whose property was at Bally Haly, now the golf course in St. John's. Caroline was one of a twin. William and Caroline had 10 children that I can document.
