Dad's grandparents on his mother, Mary Mgt Allison's, side, were Robert Allison (1824-5/9/1882 worked for the Pitt family as coachman and also had their own farm near Windsor Lake on the Portugal Cove Road. He married Mary Ryan of St. St. John's and eventually moved up to James Street in St. John's where he was a sea man. He was of the Presbyterian faith and only became RC the week before he died so he could be buried with his wife.
