"Deceased was the son of Frances and the late William Saunders. He left a wife and 4 children."

I do not at present know any of their names and by the information I had received from Kevin Reddigan, Frances [Sliney] Saunders, his mother, was already deceased by this time contrary to what the newspaper obit implied as was his father as stated in the obit.

Further information from Kevin today (010520):

"Daniel Saunders, son of William Saunders (of Robert) and Frances Sliny, was married to Margaret Grace of Placentia at St. John's in Jan 1880. They lived in St. John's but I have only identified two of their children so far. I am still looking for other details. Their, son Patrick Saunders, eventually moved to Aquaforte after he married Margaret Kenny of Fermeuse in the 1920s. He and Margaret are buried in Aquaforte Cemetery. They had at least 3 children, 2 sons and a daughter. One son and the daughter died young at Aquaforte."
