030801: All the information that I had on the Teissieri/Teissier/Tessier family up until today was taken from the family tree of Harcourt Gardiner.I had found his tree while searching for information on the Carters, who married into the Tessier family several times. But I did not know from my correspondence with Harcourt who was the source of the information on this ancient Huguenot family (still known as the Barons de Teissier in Europe). Yesterday I discoverd the most remarkably detailed family tree on this illustrious family on the Genes Reunited website and found out that the researcher for all of this information is Christian Holmes in the UK. From this point forward, where there is a discrepancy of fact (spellings, dates etc.) in the Teissier line I will be using Christian's information, as the primary researcher, and not the information in Harcourt's family tree, as it was transcribed and may bein error. I will still trust Harcourt's information on the Carters asthis was apparently his own research and not that of Christian.

Notes from Christian's family tree: "He is remembered as being a Premier judge in Nice. His son (not necc. Giovani) was also a Judge. This family is of very ancient foreign extraction, and is said to be descended from the Kings of Sicily, and to have served under their banner during the Holy Wars. It has long been enrolled as "Familie noble, originaire de Nice" in the Dictionnaireof French Noblesse "Teissier de Marguerittes".

From Lucy Barnard's family tree viewed on Genes Reunited on 110108: "Details come from Family search. Alternative Birthplace is Gladsmuir, East Lothian? (Spouse Elizabeth Mitchel) with son Telfer Chr. 26/11/1784 There is also a William Telpher born 8 Jun 1752 to William Telpher and ? Russell in Slamannan, Stirling." Since she seems very hesitant about this person I am not copying overany of the remaining information she has on their descendants. This marriage, if it exists, would be the sole connection between her line and mine.
