WENMAN, John
Died September 15,1950
Row H east, Plot 7
John Wenman emigrated from Kent, England, to
Ontario in 1870 and ten years later moved to Mani-
toba. In 1906, he returned to England with his wife
and son, Reginald. Their second son, John was born
in England.
Wenman and his family returned to Canada in
1912 and settled in Gordon Head, where he purchased
10-acres of farmland and had a house built that be-
came known as Acryse. As a gentleman farmer, he
grew strawberries, but later switched to daffodils.
Wenman had a keen interest in sports and played
cricket with the Incogs Cricket Club until well after
his 70th birthday. He continued to serve the club in
an official capacity after his retirement.
Wenman Drive located off Gordon Head Road is
named after this family.
