General:
Helen Steinke had his second name as Azarious but NLGS record from C of E marrriages shows it as Agarias. In fact it should be Azarias according to Marriage announcement in the Patriot (Gert Crosbie):

"Butler, William Azarias of Port de Grave, married Winser, Sarah Ann,2nd daughter of Jacob Winser of Aquaforte (wedding took place there), Sept.27/51 P"

There is conflicting information on the name still. On Find a Grave, there are two burials in Ross Bay cemetery for a John William Butler, a sea captain, and his wife Sarah Ann. The persons who posted this information have concluded (on what evidence I do not know) that these two are in fact the couple who married in Aquaforte. They may be right, but there are enough discrepancies in ages and dates and names to make it a suspect conclusion. I have nevertheless entered this information here as I have never been able to find any information on him other than the marriage.
