Supreme Court, 20 November 1857 - Petition of Joseph Francis McNamara of St. John's. The petitioner's father Michael McNamara, cooper, died intestate on 28 January 1851 leaving a wife Frances (Bulger) and two sons Joseph and Augustine. Frances was granted sole administration of her husband's estate valued at £ 739/10/1. Augustine McNamara is now 28 years of age and at present is in Cuba. The petitioner is married with a child to support. He has been working as a watchmaker but has been unable to obtain employment. Joseph has asked his mother for his share of the estate and she has refused. He asks the court to review the accounts of the estate to determine his share.
