O'BRIEN, Margaret (Margie) - (May 1, 1938 - September 20, 2018) - Passed peacefully away at the Labrador West Medical Centre surrounded by family and friends, Margaret Regina O'Brien, at the age of 80 years. Predeceased by her partner Joseph Smith, father Michael Moore, mother Theresa Moore (Hawkins), sisters Ida Kinsella and Lillian Walsh, and brother Patrick Moore. Leaving to mourn with loving memories her children: Linda Barron (Wayne) Wabush, NL; Gary O'Brien (Diane) Goose Bay, NL; Brenda Coombs (Kevin) Sparwood, BC; Kim Conway (Paul) Labrador City, NL and Corey Smith (Pam) Labrador City, NL; her sisters Mary Hynes (Gerald) Ferryland, NL and Catherine Ryan (Pat) Mount Pearl, NL. Margie also leaves behind her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of the LW Medical Centre for the exceptional care they provided to our mom over the past 4 ½ years. Visitation will take place at Penney's Funeral Home on Sunday, September 23rd from 2 - 4 pm and 7 - 9 pm. Funeral services will be held at the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Labrador City on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow at the Labrador City Cemetery. Flowers or donations to one's choice are being accepted.

This record of baptism at St. Gabriel's came up in a search for people whose name sounded like Mowry in the transcript of baptisms on FreeReg.org.uk. Her parents were George and Elizabeth Moore (sic) and that should mean that they are not a part of the Morey/Mory/Morry/Mowry/Moary etc. family whose events are recorded in that church register at the time.

However, this is not the only Moore that showed up and at least one other is known to be a part of our family line so I think it is fair to say that there is a reasonable possibility that Margaretha and her parents are a part of the family. I have added her father as a son of William tentatively as they are the only family of the Morry line in the village at that time.

Mary Costello (nee Moore) - Passed away peacefully after a prolonged illness at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador on April 17, 2015. Mary was one of six children born to the late Samuel and Gladys Moore, and was the beloved wife of Kevin Costello for over 29 years. Mary will forever be remembered by her loving siblings Joseph (Margaret Moore) and Vivian (Francis Squires); and much-loved children, Paula, Ann (Thomas Buggey), Gerard (Faye), Stephen, John (Christina), Michael, Joseph (Sonya O'Reilly), and Jane; treasured grandchildren, Jennifer (Robert Tishaw), Andrea, Kathleen, Liam (Alison Diskin), Shawn, Michelle (Sean Bidlake), Kevin, Angela, Fiona, and Madeline; great grandchildren, Maverick, Shane, Savannah, and Elizabeth; caring sister-in-law Joan Costello; and, countless other family members and friends. Mary was predeceased by her siblings, Gerard, Maureen (Gerard Walsh), and an infant sister, Imelda; also in-laws, Wilfred and Mary, Thomas and Mary, and Gerald Costello. Special thanks to Michael and Jane for the kindness and patience with which they have lovingly tended mother for so many years. The heartfelt care they provided, with great dignity and quiet self-sacrifice, has been truly appreciated by all who loved Mary. We also wish to thank family members who visited and helped in so many ways. Mary was also blessed with professional, compassionate caregivers. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Sunday from 2-4 pm, 6-9 pm and on Monday from 2-4 pm with cremation to follow. Funeral Mass will take place at St. Pius X Church, Smithville Crescent on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 9:30 am with a private inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
