Due to the age and the fact that he was buried in the Norris family plot (only family were buried there) I have made the assumption that this is a brother of James.

According to Gail Howell, Dorothy did not emigrate to Nova Scotia in 1919 and then to then US in 1925 with the rest of her family. She stayed in St. John's on her own and married Ernest Cabot Carey there a year after the family left in 1919. It wasn't until much later (1946) that she herself moved to the US after separating from or divorcing her husband who was an alcoholic.
