31/10/01 In the 1921 Newfoundland census the entire family of John Norris and wife Mary (Mollie) including all 9 children is recorded twice, once inConche, St. Barbe District and again in Saint John's West on Golf St.This would have been the time the family moved into St. John's as theyoungest child, Frances (Frankie), was born in May 1920 and was 1 at the time of the census.

There are many errors and discrepancies between the two sets of records, both in terms of the dates of birth and even the names of the individuals. In the Conche census the mother is called Mollie, while in St. John's she is correctly recorded as Mary. Daughter Marie is correctly named in the Conche census but referred to as Maria in St. John's. Agnes's month and year of birth is given as July 1915 in Conche and March 1917 in St. John's (the former being correct).

Almost every other date of birth is contradictory as well, either themonth or year or both. These errors may be in the original recordingsor may be transcription errors in the records on the Newfoundland's Grand Banks website. This can be verified by checking against the original census rcords at the Provincial Archives in St. John's
