From - The Telegram, St. John's, Newfoundland, March 3, 2007 PARSONS, Carson - St. George's, NL, January 27, 1936 - March 2, 2007. Passed peacefully away on Friday, March 2, 2007, after a lengthy battle with cancer at the family residence in St. George's, with his wife Valetta of 47 years, and family. Carson was a long time businessman of Bay St. George. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Valetta (nee Gabriel); daughter Valarie Parsons (Alex Pilgrim), Lethbridge, AB; grandchildren Megan and Luke; sister Goldie (Charles) Hallett, St. George's; brothers Donald (Sandra), Kitchener, ON; Wayne (Helen), Ottawa, ON and Gary (Kay), Nova Scotia; step-mother Florence Parsons. Also leaving to mourn a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents: Gordon and Effie Parsons; sisters Fay, Janette, Helen and son Craig. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home in Stephenville Crossing on Saturday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Sunday 10-12 noon. The Funeral Service will take place on Sunday, March 4, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church in Stephenville, Reverend Stewart Bellows officiating. Interment will follow at the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery, Anglican Section. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
