Note that all the information on the Stirlings came over from a merge with Jean Carter Stirling's family tree in the summer of 2021. Even so, there are some discrepancies between the information in the merged tree and her research notes on this family which she gave me around 2021. I'm really not sure which is more current so therefore am leaving the information as is unless I have sources to correct it.

Charlie Stirling, who is completing the family history of the Stirlings of Newfoundland says that William took over the medical practice of his brother John in Harbour Grace after his death in 1806.

Peggy Krause Hansen responded to this: "I checked what I have on Clementina Stiven and the 26 May 1804 was the date of her christening which I obtained from www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk <http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/> She may have been christened a few years after she was born or else someone transcribed the information incorrectly. Also the date of the wedding which I got from the same source may be incorrect. Agnes was born in 1820 so they may have been married later than 1816."

So I am leaving it as such for now until some new information corrects either the birth or marriage date.
