My husband's grandfather was 70 the year my husband turned 7 -- on the same date....so it was a very memorable family event that day. Wayland was born November 22, 1895. The census would have him shown younger because his birthday was after the date the census was taken (so if it was taken in October, for example, Wayland would still have been 4 in 1900, not turning 5 til the end of November.) Thanks for correcting your records.

"My Paternal Grandmother, Mary Laing Webster Minty Bailey came from Edinburgh, Scotland. My Paternal Grandfather, William Edgar Bailey came from Nova Scotia. They met during World War I, in Nova Scotia where she worked as a Nurse and he was in the Military."

Jan. 19, 2002 Nancy thought that William Bailey was born in Nova Scotia but Christopher Bailey's information, provided to him by his father, indicates that William was born in Manchester, NH. Needs to be reconciled.

May 17, 2002 Just to confuse matters further, Aunt Jean's records have him born in Garmouth, Elgin, Scotland!

I have seen his birth certificate on Ancestry.com and he was born in Manchester, NH. If he met Mary in Nova Scotia it would have been because he was in the US Navy and his vessel probably was in port there.
