More about Dorothy Jean Carr Always known as "Jean" She went to Normal school in Regina after completing grade eleven at Strasbourg and received her teachers certificate. Taught school in the White Fox area for a few years and then went to Chaplin, Saskatchewan and taught there. She married Clarence Foster who farmed north of Chaplin on the Foster homestead. They retired to Chaplin and ran a motel there for approx. 10 years.

More about Elizabeth Carr. Christened 18 Jul 1910 at Strasbourg, Saskatchewan Was always known as "Bessie" Her mother became ill with tuberculosis when she was young and she was quarantined with her mother in a tent during the summer months. Her mother died when Bessie was 18. She worked at housekeeping jobs around Strasbourg until she married Albin Hansen in 1932. This was during the depression years and times were hard. While Albin traveled all around Saskatchewan and even BC doing whatever work he could find she remained in Strasbourg raising her young family and doing housework for others. Albin and Bessie left Strasbourg in 1957 when they moved to Nanaimo BC. They lived in various places on Vancouver Island doing various jobs. They moved to Strathmore, Alberta in 1961 where they janitored at the local school. They returned to BC in 1963, settling in Victoria until 1976 when they retired to Oliver, BC. They lived there and in Penticton BC until they returned to Alberta to live in Medicine Hat in 1986. After Albin died in May of 1988, Bessie returned to Strasbourg to live. She died after suffering a heart attack while convalescing from surgery for abdominal cancer in Sep 1993.
