Faye's Life


Faye Katherine Edgar was born on February 18, 1942 in Plaster Rock, NB, to Burns and
Pearle (Ruff) Edgar. She was the 5th of 11 children. Faye is survived by her three
daughters Randi Saunders (Rob Clairmont), Jacalyn Saunders, and Katie Saunders. Faye was "Grandmom" to Lauren Morry (Alex Fels), William Morry, Holly Morry, Hannah
Saunders, and Jake Saunders. Faye cherished the role of being GiGi to Don's great
granddaughters Olivia and Brielle.

Faye is now reunited with her grandson Ian Morry and longtime partner Don Mockler.

Nothing brought Faye more joy than keeping up with the lives of her grandchildren,
siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was a consummate hostess, who kept a tidy
house and always had some home baking on hand for any visitors who may drop by. She
delighted in every opportunity to enjoy a cup of tea with treasured friends, many of whom
she has known since childhood. Mom loved animals and spoiled all of them terribly,
especially Princess and Molly. To Faye, heaven on earth was at the cottage, whether
building a jigsaw puzzle or sitting on the deck, drink in hand.

Faye's Career

Faye graduated from Tobique Valley High School in Plaster Rock and went on to obtain a
diploma in business education from the Community College in Moncton. Later she
obtained her BEd from the University of New Brunswick. Education was very important to Faye, and she instilled that value in her children and grandchildren. Faye taught at
Woodstock High School, Woodstock Community College and Fredericton High School. She used her desire to continue learning by pursuing a career change when she went to the NBTA Credit Union as a loans officer and later as manager. She finished off her working career as a Financial Counsellor at the Family Resource Center at Base Gagetown. Faye loved talking about finances!

Faye's Impact

Faye's faith was reflected in her service to others. She was instrumental in starting the first chapter of Habitat for Humanity Fredericton with the initial meetings being held at her
kitchen table in New Maryland. She served as a volunteer at Hospice Fredericton, churches she attended, as a board member of the Muriel McQueen Fergusson Foundation, and anywhere she saw a need. Faye joyfully gave of her time and resources and raised her daughters to do the same.

Faye's family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Hospice House Fredericton for their care to Faye and each one of us in her final weeks. We invite family and friends to stop by and celebrate Faye's life on Sunday, September 29 between 2:00 \endash 4:00 upstairs at 12 Neighbours Cafe located at 12 Neighbourly Way, Fredericton North (Please use side entrance). Donations to Hospice House, charity of your choice, or acts of community service in remembrance of Faye are appreciated by the family.
