This marriage was recorded in the Congregationalist Church. However, Rev. Pedley, the Congregational minister performed the marriage at the residence of the bride's mother. The St.John's newspapers stated that the "Bride was the second daughter of the late J.W. Saunders and granddaughter of the late George Winter, ordnance storekeeper. Groom was "late" of Quebec".

I believe that this is an error in that transcript and that the names Codner and Preston actually pertained to the parents of the child whose birth/baptism appears immediately above her name in the transcript record.
