Notes
General:
Viewed marriage record 160703 which indicated she was 29 but which did not give where she was from nor the name and profession of her father unfortunately. It indicated her residence as "Asylum" which is curious.

190710:

There is a curious fact missing here. In the Hamlyn plot there is buried an Edna Bishop, widow of George Bishop. Her obituary appreared in the Bay Roberts Guardian as follows:

Friday, December 1, 1916

On the 22nd November, died at No. 39 Brazil Square, St. John's, after a short illness, Edna BISHOP, aged 84 years. She was the wife of the late George Bishop, and leaves to mourn six sons and one daughter.

I have always had Theresa Hamlyn's maiden name as Harmun. That comes from the marriage record. She was not previously married. So who were George and Edna Bishop if not the mother and father of Theresa? And is it purely coincidental that a daughter of Moses and Theresa married a Bishop as well (Joseph from Cavendish, TB)?

I suppose it is possible that Theresa's mother remarried and that her first husband simply was not mentioned in the obituary, but even that seems a bit odd.

The other possibility is that she was the aunt of either Moses or Theresa and was living with them when she died.

Here is the 1935 Census return for #18 Topsail Rd.:

1818HAMLYNTheresaHeadFW70 HAMLYNHenrySonMS33 HAMLYNWestonSonMS32 HAMLYNGeorgeSonMS30 HAMLYNVictoriaDaughterFS29 HARNUMChristinaSister in lawFS66

Moses was dead by then as were a number of his children. Note the new name of Christina as "sister-in-law". This is a new sister for Theresa, not Moses, (her surname is Harnum or Harmun, the two spellings often mixed up, and she would have been Moses' sister in law) that I did not have before. She is unmarried.

280710:

The spelling of Harnum/Harmun is a question. She signed her own name Harmun on the church record but her supposed sister Christina is listed on the census as Harnum. Since her father's name is not given on the marriage record (nor is Moses' for that matter) there are many mysteries left unsolved here.
