I had previously shown her name as Sarah Naomi but I believe now that was an error as that was the name of the spouse of William Chislett (Sarah Naomi Legge) and this woman is only shown as Sarah on the birth-baptismal vital records for her children.

I don't know why I have never recorded this here before and I cannot immediately lay my hands on the source of the informaiton but I have always known that Nan obtained employment in some secretarial or clerical capacity with an unknown company in Clarenville after completion of her secondary education (3 years). I will ask john Wheeler if he has any of the details.
There is a tiny, fragile little notebook that Mom had and that now I have that contains little verses by friends of hers at the time she left primary school in January 1902.

Information from Mom while I was visiting her in Ottawa.
Aunt Sue married Joe Doherty, an Irish Catholic. This is of note because the reason she left home was because her parents wouldn't let her marry her Catholic sweetheart from the South Side. Joe was an alcoholic and never amounted to much and died young. They had two children, Muriel and Ralph, and, though both married, neither had any children. Ralph had a minor job as a clerk at Jordan Marsh department job. Muriel'shusband Herbert Kruger was a truck driver for Jordan Marsh.

121216:
It does appear to be true, though not too much should be made of the fact, that Aunt Sue was born only one month after her parents' marriage. In those days it was not uncommon that the minister in these outport communities was itinerant and only appeared periodically, at which time he would formalise whatever marriages had, for all intents and purposes, already taken place. That said, I have heard hushed rumours from my mother and others that her grandmother Jane and, by implication, all the Chisletts, were of low moral character compared to the Bishops, and that rumour may have begun because of a "shotgun wedding".
