170307: Fergus Kennedy noted that the name was misspelled as Catharine, and should have been Catherine, but for accuracy he has retained the spelling found on the church records. She was known in life as Kate in any event.

250307: He went on to add: "Michael and Kate ( Quinlisk ) Kennedy lived in Eglish/Aglish ( both spellings are used by the locals - it's gaelic for " church " ), whichis near Borrisokane, Co.Tipperary. I have visited the church and the graveyard there, and still have plenty of Kennedy second cousins living in the area. They are happy to remind visitors that the Kennedys have lived there for over a thousand years, and were the Lords of Ormondfor about 600-700 of those, until a guy named Cromwell dropped in to spoil the fun."

There is no way of knowing at this time how this Catherine Quinlisk fits into the family tree of the Quinlisk's of Behamore except to say that she most certainly does. There are a number of other Catherine Quinlisks from Behamore who could qualify on approximate age alone, but most have other husbands associated with them later. So unless Timothy died and Catherine remarried, this would appear to be a "new" Catherine Quinlisk to attempt to add to the family tree based on new information later on.

On the Civil Registration on FamilySearch they give the father's name as John Quinlirk [sic]. However, there they give the location of the marriage as Borrisokane and there is no mention of their being from Behamore. So this needs some sorting out.

There is no way of knowing at this time how this Catherine Quinlisk fits into the family tree of the Quinlisk's of Behamore except to say that she most certainly does. There are a number of other Catherine Quinlisks from Behamore who could qualify on approximate age alone, but most have other husbands associated with them. And she is shown as being single at the time of this marriage so an earlier marriage seems to be ruled out.

The Civil Registration of this marriage gives her father's name as John Quinlirk [sic]. This increases the likelihood of the above scenario of an earlier marriage that was perhaps annulled.

The image is available and it adds the following information: The marriage occurred on the 15th of February 1868, he was from Roscrea and she was from Behamore and the witnesses were John and Johanna Quinlisk. This could be her father and cousin of those names.

But without further evidence I cannot say how certain this is.

For this reason I am entering this couple as "new" individuals today, though there is every chance they, or at least she, are not entirely new to the family file.
