From Fergus Kennedy 180811: Firstly, I will focus on Rita and Janes ancestor, Ann Fogarty, who married Michael Quinlisk. Her father was Martin Fogarty ( 1815 -1884 ), and his first wife ( Ann's mother ) was Sarah Brocius. I did not know that, after Sarah died, Martin remarried - Rosa Reynolds ( 1830-1890 ), and they had two children. They were Sarah Fogarty ( 1859-1940 ), who married James Carey Bishop,, and James Henry Fogarty ( 1863 -1942 ). Find a Grave has lots more about their children , exact dates of birth and death, burial sites etc etc.

Next, we can also discover info about the siblings, sisters-in-law and nieces/nephews of Martin Fogarty, as the site lists his father as Martin Fogarty, and his brothers, who both died in Cloughjordan Co. Tipperary, as John Fogarty and Patrick Fogarty. It appears that they both died in the Famine years in Ireland, but both their widows then followed Martin to Ohio. John Fogarty's widow was Anna Harty ( 1820 -1899 ), with 5 children, and Patrick's was Margaret Cooney ( 1819 - 1872 ) with 4 children. Again lots more information on the website.

Finally, a small discrepancy between my previous records and those of Find A Grave re the second wife of Patrick Quinlisk of Sidney, Shelby,Ohio. I had recorded her name as Susan Gordon, but the website shows her name as Susan McCormick Quinlisk, born 1830 in Ireland and death on 20 Nov 1910 in Sidney. Just to complicate the issue further the Ohio state records record the marriage on 21 Jan 1851 as being between Patrick " Quinnlesk " and Susanna " McGorman " !!
