Marriage Notes for James Stevenson Hayward and Sarah Ellen STABB-219
Marriage: St Johns Church of England Cathedral
280710:
However the marriage was actually celebrated at St. Thomas's while it was serving as a temporary home for the Cathedral clergy during reconstruction after the fire.
160112:
The marriafge appears in the register of the Cathedral but if the Vital Statistics transcript is accurate, the date is post dated to June 13, 1856 rather than the date on which the marriage evidently did take place at St. Thomas's, June 10, 1856. One more example of errors creeping into the official record during this temporary hiatus whilst the Cathedral was being repaired.
