Email from Enid O'Brien

"Mary Morry/Peter Paint LeMessurier's eldest son, William Morry LeMessurier was also living in Montreal. He was a Commission Merchant for the firm Cunningham and LeMessurier in Montreal where he died in June1826 at the age 81 years. I have no record of his marriage and whether or not he had children but I suspect he may have married and the second Archibald might be his child. He most likely married Annie Brown."

The above email stems from another email from Donna Izzard, a granddaughter of Dollie LeMessurier, whom she knew to be the daughter of Archibald LeMessurier and Annie Brown, both of Québec. This revealed an erroneous relationship to another Archibald LeMessurier, born lived and died in Newfoundland, who was married to Isabelle Herald. "Our" Archibald was the son of Peter Fred and Emma Long.

This is all not certain yet, and I am not attaching these descendentsand information on wife and children as well as dates and places associated with Archibald Frederick LeMessurier and adding him as a son of William and an unknown wife. It seems from Donna that her Archibaldwas actually the son of an unrelated John LeMesurier.

040715:

According to Craig Le Messurier's family tree notes "William resided in Montréal and did not marry."

170620:

According to Robert Carter's diaries, the occasion of William Morry Le Messurier's birth and Christening was marked by a big party at the Le Messurier house on Feb. 12, 1846 which brought in guests from far and wide (e.g. Robert, James and Mary Carter from Ferryland but also Miss Brashaw from Placentia and Alan Goodridge and his wife and J. W. Saunders from Renews). The guests, or many of them, were then unable to head home because of
a heavy gale, some of them staying in Caplin Bay and others making it as far as Ferryland the first day and then being detained again.

I would be happy to send you a download of my tree, it is for everyone that has a connection to the LeMessurier's. First this may help, log on to the Internet and then minimize the screen, then start family tree maker. When FTM has started, click on the button at the top that says online, this will get you to the family tree maker homepage. From there go to the line that says home pages and then scroll down until it asks you what you would like to do with your home page, there are a few options but click on the one that says to add a family tree, make sure when you have started familytreemaker you have it showing generations. If all this fails you may call me and I will walk you through it. My number is 1-307-245-9411 There are a couple of Morry's on the tree but not very good info on them. I have been checking into the LeMessurier's of North America and fromwhat I have found two brothers landed in the Gaspe area of Quebec and started it all from there. I was born in Toronto, Ontario my self, then moved to Alberta and now I am in Wyoming, USA. I have contacts in Manitoba, Sask,Alberta,California,Oregon, England, Australia, South Africa, anda few more as the list just keeps getting bigger. 100918:

He was more than likely the namesake of Dr. William Warner, a surgeon ministering to the needs of the Royal Navy in St. John's. In one case of the death of navy rating this was reported:

"On 17 April 1813, John McLean, a sailor on board the Royal Navy flag ship died after spending ten days drinking gin and rum. The alcohol-fuelled death, drove a despairing William Warner, the ship's surgeon, to observe in his notes: "Drunkenness nowadays in the Navy kills more men than the sword. I am sure of it. Surgeon William Warner - (ADM/101/125/3)"

Dr. William Warner was buried at the Anglican Cemetery, Forest Rd., in St. John's at the age of 51 on Nov. 30, 1827.
