Hi Chris:

I have Colleen, Andrew and their three children visiting so there is competition for the computer.

Regarding Cyril's dad headstone it is totally wrong. Cyril's brother came up from Lab City and bought a headstone in a hurry and brought it up to Cape Broyle. After he had it up and Ben checked it the dates on it were wrong as well as the spelling of his father's name although a number of people spell it Lawrence. Mr O'Brien always spelled his name Laurence and not Lawrence as on the headstone. As you might guess he was called after Father Laurence Vereker. Also the dates given on the headstone are incorrect. Jerry blamed it on the person who engraved the headstone but who knows? He said he gave him the right dates but were copied wrong. Anyway, the correct dates are as follows: Born April 14/1903 and Died January 7, 1986.

Mrs. O'Brien, nee Margaret (called Madge) Kelly is the dgt of Wm Kelly from Sunny Hill Ferryland and Elizabeth Hartery from Cape Broyle born Oct. 30, 1901 and died June 19, 1969.

Their daughter, Eileen, was born August 3, 1938 and died January 5, 1940.

Hi Enid:

I found the gravestone for Cyril?s dad on the CD. No problem with an unusual middle name like Vereker, despite the common surname. I am not sure if I have found his mother?s gravestone though because the date of birth does not quite accord with what I had. The image of the stone attached show her born in 1901 and 1902. It should be easy for you to sort out if I found the correct one or not from her date of death and the name of an infant daughter (Eileen) buried with her. I did not have that name before but only have spotty information on Cyril?s family at best.

Could you verify if this is correct please.

The problem with these gravestone images is that despite the fact that contribute a good deal of new data, my family tree file is beginning to look more and more like a graveyard because of the preponderance of images of gravestones rather than living people!
