I cannot account for why there is such a discrepancy in the date of the marriage as seen on two different websites. Clearly it is the same couple and clearly they did not get married twice. I do not know at this stage which record to believe.

Spirits Merchant ? [note from Harcourt Gardiner's GEDCOM - could pertain to husband or could have been entered under Elizabeth in error as other Tessiers were definitely spirits merchants associated with the Newman Port enterprises]

180703: Not mentioned in George LeMessurier's family tree. The "Joey Smallwood" Carter family tree provides the details on children and their spouses and it is not found in Harcourt Gardiner's GEDCOM so for now I am accepting it as found in the "Joey" tree without questioning its accuracy - probably a mistake considering the number of other dubious entries in that record. That tree indicates there were other children but provides information only on these three.

Harcourt Gardiner is an American and like all Americans he gets his dates ass-foremost! The date of baptism that he transcribed from St. Petrox would have been given as 05/11/1784 which he incorrectly converted to May 11, 1874. It should be 5 November 1874. I have corrected this today.
