140813: Several baptismal records are found at the end of a transcript on NGB with the notation that they did not appear on the original document but no explanation of where they were found. There is no way of knowing how accurate these may be. Several of them seem to be in conflict with information on other transcripts of presumably the same church register also on NGB. The birth date is likely an error, actually being the christening date.
Order of Canada 1974 Mayor of Grand Bank, Burin 300513 from Dictionary of Newfoundland and Labrador Biography:
TESSIER, FREDERICK MAINWARING (1915- ). b Ferryland 2 Apr; Grand Bank municipal councillor 1948-53, mayor 1953-81; president Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Municipalities 1963-64; president Newfoundland Soccer Association 1964-70; OC 1974; Municipal Service Award 1983. Tessier was an inspector with the Department of Health until 1943, when he became an accountant with the Grand Bank firm of G. & A. Buffett. He was elected to the Grand Bank municipal council in 1948 and became mayor in 1953, holding that position until 1981. Tessier was active in a great many sports and recreation activities and was inducted into the Newfound land and Labrador Sports Hall of Fame in recognition of his 27 years as president of the Grand Bank Soccer Association and his term as president of the provincial soccer association. On the "original" Petty Harbour register, which is more probably a copy of the register in each of the churches for which Petty Harbour served from time to time as a record depository, I have discovered that two sons, Frederick Mainwaring Tessier and Gladstone James Tessier were a twin, both born on 2 April 1915 and both Christened at St. Luke's in Ferryland by John Hewitt on April 10 1915. I photographed this register in Box 2 of the Petty Harbour register photocopies at The Rooms in July 2018. Although these dates are different from those I had found on the NGB transcript of the DPHW transcripts for Frederick Mainwaring and although I had not known previously of the existence of his twin brother, Gladstone James, I have no reason not to accept this as the most factual and likely correct information available so I am entering it today.

120813: Today in consultation with Enid O'Brien I am taking the somewhat drastic step of deleting Gladstone James Tessier. We both think that he is the product of a mistaken transcription of the birth-baptismal record of one of his siblings (Frederick), who ostensibly had the same birth date, and that the name of his Uncle Gladstone was accidentally copied down because he was the witness/godfather. There is absolutely no solid evidence to support the existence of such a person.
Hi Chris/Jean:
There is always something thrown in to make matters complicated. I also picked up the Gladstone James Tessier of George and Blanche Tessier baptised on April 21/1915. He doesn't appear in an entry after this which might mean he was a twin of Fred who was born in April 1915 or it might be an error as Gladstone was an uncle of Fred and might possibily have been a sponsor for Frederick.
The 1921 census is also not clear on the birth place of Frederick as it is given as Ferryland/England while the rest are given as St. John's. I looked up the Vital Stats for a death of a Gladstone or James Tessier and there is none listed. If he died, he most likely died as an infant (which wouldn't be unusual in a twin birth) and that might have been why he wasn't included in the obits of his father, mother or brothers. He also wasn't mentioned when Frederick died in 8/1992 (ref Even Tel 21/8/1992 and if he was a twin you would think it would be mentioned here. It is hard to say.
What I can say is that George Tessier (md Blanche Carter) died 19/1/1937 and this child is not mentioned. George had a brother,James Lewis Gladstone Tessier, called "Gladstone" and a sister, Catherine Tessier, who was living with Gladstone when she died. It appears she wasn't married. At that time they were living on 66 Monkstown Road (Ref.Even Tel 2/2/1943). Also when George (md Blanche Carter) died he was buried from Gladstone's house on Power St (Re Even Telegram 21/1/1937),
James Lewis Gladstone Tessier md twice. The first time to Frances Moore who died age 26 yrs (Daily News 8/9/1905. They also had an infant daughter called Fanny who died around the same time. They were living on Theatre Hill at that time.
The second time he married Bessie Bursell in 7/1909 (Ref Daily News 16/7/1909. They had a son, Gerald G Tessier born 12/1916 (Ref. 1921 Census.
James Lewis Gladstone Tessier died 2/7/1960 (Ref. Daily News July 5,1960) and Bessie died 7/1/1963 (Ref. Even Tel 9/1/1963).
I believe George Born 10/1869, Gladstone Born 5/1878 and Catherine were children of James Carter Tessier/Annie Jackman Langmead.
I don't know if this is any help.

161117:
From Newfoundland Quarterly article in 2008 by Suzanne Sexty:
Whether considered a Canadian or a Newfoundlander, in 1918 Mary Chisholm was appointed an officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (O. B. E.) by George V for her work with the WPA. The O. B. E. had been established in 1917 as a way to honour people in the British Isles and other parts of the Empire who were helping in the war effort. It was the first order of chivalry to include women. Brehm's eldest son, Balthazar, was a man of action. In his early years he worked in the butterine factory with his father; then, on July 2, 1902, he, and his friend George Tessier, set sail for South Africa on the SS Corean. The Boer War had ended the previous month and the country held the promise of adventure and economic success for enterprising young men. When they applied for permits to land in South Africa, both Balthazar and Tessier listed their occupation as "accountant" and indicated a desire "to establish [themselves] in business." They found work with the railway. Tessier, and probably Balthazar as well, left South Africa in 1910. Tessier returned to Newfoundland, but Balthazar moved to western Canada where he again worked for the railway. Balthazar was fondly remembered in the Daily News obituary of November 28, 1921 as a "man's man" who was loyal to friend and country. And, while it acknowledged his enlistment in the 61st Winnipeg Battalion and his service during World War I, the obituary failed to give him full credit for his extreme commitment. In 1915, when he enlisted, Balthazar was almost 50 years old. However, on his attestation paper he declared his birth year as 1874 - eight years after the actual year, 1866. One can only wonder how much the stress of war contributed to his death just three years after the Armistice."
